Imagine that you are in a beautiful, forest environment, and in the distance you can see a broken tree, which lies just on your way. When you approach it, the tree starts to blur and when you’re there, it disappears completely. If this tree represented the difficulties that accompany us every day and that disappear just as quickly as they appear, life would probably be much easier. Despite the fallen trees, which we often cannot cope with, life can be simpler if we only realise that…
There are no people who have no difficulties, there are only people who do better or worse with them.
Don’t worry, I won’t ask you now how you are coping with life’s difficulties. Each of us tries to solve them somehow with better or worse results. However, there are problems that at first glance overwhelm us, absorbing all our thoughts, effectively poisoning our subsequent days. If you don’t want to lose those days anymore, see what the author of the publication “How to get started?
Letter from the author – Elżbieta Kalinowska Welcome warmly, My name is Elżbieta Kalinowska and I am a psychologist. I help people build self-esteem and good relations with others. I work as a psychotherapist with people with different emotional problems, difficulties in relationships and other relations, and addictions. Currently, I work in the city of Polana Centre – I conduct both psychotherapy in the office and psychological support via the Internet in the form of e-mail contact.
I am the editor of the psychological portal and the blog Psychologist On-line knowledge-inspirations- personal development. I give you “How to get off the ground? It is a psychological guide for people who are confronted with a life problem and feel that they are still at the starting point despite the internal work they have done.
During several years of therapeutic work, both in the office and online, I have often met people who have a lot of knowledge about their problem. They realize where it came from, they know how to connect it to past experiences, they know what makes it worse and what weakens it in their present lives, but this knowledge of things does not bring them closer to changing the existing state. They feel they are stuck and do not know at all what to do to move from a place where they find it so difficult to be.
Since I have been working in BSFT (Brief Solution Focused Therapy), I have seen how often this stoppage in a problem situation is the result of a particular way of thinking and focusing attention. As a rule, there is little need for a person to mobilise their own psychological resources and to start coping effectively and independently with difficulties and accomplishing what they want in life.
This observation inspired me to write down, step by step, what is needed to get out of the restrictive thinking about my problem and to get closer to the future I want. “How to move on” will give you a different view of your situation and show you what you can do to break out of the closed circle of problems and move forward, and how to keep your desire for change for a longer period of time.
Can you stand on a chair?
Did you watch the film “Association of Dead Poets”? There is a scene where a teacher (Robin Williams) asks his students to stand on a chair one by one and look at the rest of the room.
Students react with laughter, but when they carry out this experiment, they see how the change of perspective can affect how they perceive things. Are you also able to stand on a chair? If so, please read more…
What will you learn from this publication in concrete terms?
Why is it important what you think about the problem?
Have you ever encountered a situation where someone has shown their disapproval of the situation and what has caused your surprise? You didn’t mind what the person thought was a problem and even wondered how to exaggerate the little discomfort? Or maybe the opposite happened to you – something that was very difficult for you, others saw at the same time as a subject to keep silent?
The author of the book will explain where such situations come from and how to turn them in her favour. He will tell you how the right change of perspective alone can give you enough ideas to come out of any situation with a defensive hand.
How to make it better?
The motto of this publication is “small steps to the goal”. The author will help you understand what it is worth to focus your attention on when you encounter difficulties. Thanks to years of experience and accurate comments, you will start looking at difficult situations with unprecedented clarity.
