When I first played in the Rocket League I didn’t expect the game to become such a phenomenon. The combination of football and fast cars was a hit, with more than 40 million players gathering the title in front of TVs and monitor screens at the beginning of 2018. It’s no wonder that the title has started to be of interest to the toy industry…
Thanks to the cooperation with Hot Wheels, the game will be transferred to reality, at least in a sense. Instead of a large stadium, the user will receive a mat with a barrier that will keep the cars in the designated area. Two models of cars – Octane and Dominus – will be available for the start, which will be controlled from the position of applications on the smartphone. Interestingly, the ball, which the players will try to drive into the opponent’s goal will also be synchronized with the application, so all points will be scored automatically.
Unfortunately, the set will not be cheap. In the USA, its price was set at 170 USD, i.e. around 611 USD. The toy will be available for sale during the Christmas period. Each copy will contain a DLC for the game introducing a package of add-ons related to the Hot Wheels brand. It is not known yet whether the set will be delivered to the U.S. – maybe then its price will be more adjusted to the realities of our market.
