Origami – the art of folding paper, originating in China and developed in Japan, and therefore origami is considered to be traditional Japanese art. In the 20th century it was recognized that in the process of classic origami making paper should not be cut, glued, or decorated.
Hi, beloved ones! Despite this definition, we are not going to assemble a paper crane today. Today I have prepared for you a review of a very pleasant card game from Rebel Publishing House, of a grateful name Origami. It is a clever card game with the art of Origas in the background.
“In the fight for the title of the best of the best origami artists, the participants reach the heights of their abilities to impress the judges. This is not an easy task, because in this traditional Japanese art you cannot cut, glue or even decorate paper. Will you be able to beat others and win this year’s title of the greatest artist, Origami”?
What is the Origami composed of?
Origami is a small card game that came out of Rebel’s wings. The game is designed for two to four players, so it is suitable for couples as well as for families with children and for a group of friends. The minimum age for Origami is 8 years, there is no upper age limit and the game time is also very friendly. It is between 15 and 30 minutes, it depends on the players.
During this time nobody will be able to get bored, and even so a short time should not discourage those who do not play board games regularly.
Origami has fabulously simple and very intuitive rules, it is a gentle game, with very friendly, delicate graphics, which in my opinion makes it ideal for the youngest players who play with their parents. The game is also very popular with those who do not play board games because it has a low entry threshold and there is no aggressive negative interaction, so nothing discourages them.
The assumptions of the game Origami
Both the preparation for the game and the rest of the game is very simple, and does not require any philosophy, which is a great convenience for many people.
First of all, to start the game you need to create the marker of the first player from the yellow sheet of paper attached, the manufacturer suggests the instruction to make the butterfly. However, we did [NOTE] the first player’s parosty. There is a yellow submarine – almost. Secondly, we divide our animals into the following categories: farm animals, water animals, land animals, grass animals and savannah animals. During the game you take as many animal categories as there are players (e.g. in the case of two players, two categories). Then we shuffle the two categories together and distribute the cards randomly to the players in such a way that the total number of folds on the card is, or slightly exceeds, ten. The person with the fewest folds is the first player.
Place the rest of the cards in the middle of the table making a waist out of it and then uncover the first four cards and make a row of cards out of them. If necessary, everything is explained in the manual by means of instructional graphics. Once you’ve done all this, it’s time to start the right game.
During the turn the player has to perform one of three available actions:
Card selection
Playing one origami card
Use of special action with origami card
I will not tell you the meaning of these actions, so as not to bother you, but as you probably guess, the further course of the game is very repetitive and quite intuitive. The whole game ends when, for example, in the case of two players, two wafers are finished, and in the case of three players – three. The points are then counted and the person who scores the most can call himself the lucky winner.
Interaction in Origami
In Origami there is no negative interaction as such, the game is built with beginners and children and families in mind, and they could be discouraged quickly in the presence of aggressive negative interaction. Origami is a friendly game, gentle, in which we do not trouble each other. There will probably be opponents and supporters of this, but that does not bother me in any way. It will certainly make the game easier for kids and fresh players who have not verified their taste for the boards yet. Adults also have fun with her, she plays successfully as a filler between thicker board games.
Regency
Origami has a very decent playing field and I think it’s much better to play with more players. It is much more interesting than during the duo games. The game is clever, well-balanced, and friendly for most people. It’s great to differentiate your gaming company.
Execution
The game is undoubtedly solidly made. On
