Business development means not only the purchase of technology, but also the improvement of the team’s skills along with the implementation of subsequent projects or the creation of corporate know-how. Behind every product or service there is a person. So how can EU funds help prepare future experts to compete on local, domestic and foreign markets? From the Regional Operational Programme for 2014-2020, over USD 670 million is planned for education for the development of the region, of which over USD 200 million will be allocated for professional development of students and educational and professional counseling.

 

We have been starting from a very young age.

Cooperation with enterprises and career guidance at university level is not enough to reconcile the expectations of employers and candidates. That is why it is so important to build links between education and the labour market at a much earlier stage of development. Students of lower and upper secondary schools should already have the opportunity to find out which professional area will be the most interesting for them.

From the resources of the ROP ROP WM 2014-2020 it will be possible to obtain funding for, among others, the implementation of internships and apprenticeships, or the introduction of additional activities organized in cooperation with employers and the creation of patronage classes. EU support will cover not only preparatory courses for studies, but also preparing candidates for journeymen and master qualification exams.

On 28 December 2015 – 18 January 2016, the call for applications for co-financing of projects addressed to students of schools and institutions providing vocational education, lifelong learning institutions, centres for further education and vocational training, art schools will be held (Measure 10.3. Vocational training Sub-measure 10.3.1 Vocational training of students). Over USD 20 million of EU funds are planned for this competition.

We create optimal conditions for
Proper preparation for vocational training would not be possible without qualified trainers and trainers. EU funding will be provided for qualification courses and in-service training, post-graduate studies, internships and internships, and the granting of examiner’s qualifications in the profession. Interestingly, building or moderating cooperation networks and self-improvement will also be promoted. Proposals for projects in this area can be submitted by 15 December this year. The amount from the EU allocated for co-financing of competition projects will amount to USD 1.5 million (10.3 Vocational training 10.3.1 Vocational training of students (teachers).

The regional program will co-finance projects in the field of training and improving the qualifications of educational and professional advisors and the creation of School Information and Career Points. Educational institutions will be encouraged to establish cooperation with the social and economic environment, such as companies, universities and non-governmental organisations. All these activities are aimed at adjusting the educational offer to the needs of the labour market. A competition in this respect is currently underway, in which there is USD 2.7 million to be distributed.

What funds for?

For the years 2014-2020 is guaranteed over USD 8 billion of EU support, directed mainly to business, administration and the scientific sector. In 2016, 47 competitions for the total amount of USD 2.3 billion will be announced, four of which will concern vocational training of students. Over USD 50 million will be earmarked, among others, for the development of cooperation between schools and the social and economic environment, providing vocational counselling, supporting the development of teachers and trainers of the profession. Then Unit for Implementation of EU Programmes is responsible for disbursement of funds from the Regional Operational Programme.
